The WorkPlace's Add Us In/DiversityWorks Program is presenting a four-part film series focusing on disability topics.  The documentary, Halfway Home, is the first film of the Add Us In Series and is sponsored by the The WorkPlace's Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program.

Halfway Home addresses Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which is thought to affect one in five veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The stigma of unseen or “psychiatric wounds” within the warrior culture, and negative attitudes towards treatment, are the biggest barriers to care for our returning vets as less than fifty percent who need care for PTSD seek care.

Following the film, subject matter specialists knowledgeable on PTSD, veteran and disability issues will be featured in an interactive panel discussion. Sign language Interpreters will be provided. Additional accommodations are available upon request. Call (203) 610-6556 for advance notice.  Free parking is available on the street after 4:00pm. Additional paid parking is available in the Joseph Steakhouse parking lot on Fairfield Avenue.
