PROCESSION CHALLENGING THE VIOLENCE

Please join the bishops, clergy and

lay parish representatives of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut at the Stamford

Marriott located at 243 Tresser Blvd. on Friday, Oct. 25 to participate in a

PROCESSION CHALLENGING THE VIOLENCE.  The

event, which is part of the 2013 Annual Connecticut Episcopal Diocese

Convention, is meant to challenge the violence all around us in our cities, in

the media, in our games and even sadly turned against our most innocent

children.  We stand in solidarity with

people affected by violence.  We take to

the streets as Christian people and the Gospel of God’s love to offer our

prayers and witness that things can be different.  The procession will begin at approximately 6:45

p.m. at the Marriott Hotel and ends at St. John’s Episcopal Church on the

corner of Main and Grove Streets. The procession culminates with a special Taizé-Evensong

worship service for peace beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the church featuring St.

John’s Choir under the direction of Music Director, Dr. Chris Shepard, and will

be led by St. John’s clergy. The service will use music from the Taizé

tradition to provide respite, reflection and refreshment for the soul. The

procession and the Taizé-Evensong service are free and open to the public. All

are welcome to attend. For more information, call St. John’s Church, 203-348-2619

ext. 10.
