Joanna M. Leone 11/13 Sacred Heart University 50th Anniversary Guest Speaker

When we think of the words "Going home," it means returning to places that bring us joy, comfort, appreciation and togetherness just like our own, warm homes.   I am honored to announce that my alma mater, Sacred Heart University has invited me to be a Guest Speaker during the university's 50th anniversary celebration. My lecture will be held  on November 13th from 2pm-3:15pm in the University Commons and it will be co-sponsored by Sacred Heart University's Alumni Relations and the Italian Club. The colloquia is part of the Human Journey Colloquia series. The Human Journey is a new study path at SHU which allows students to immerse themselves in the understanding of the arts and sciences. I am excited that my book has reached many social, professional and educational groups as well as universities in CT and throughout the Northeast.  My book, "Slices of Life Italian-American Stories" encompasses more than just true stories. It encompasses culture, traditions, history, celebrations, travel and family life.  I look forward to being a Guest Speaker at Sacred Heart University.  It is a great feeling and truly is "Going home" to a place that is such an important part of my life and filled with so many good memories. There will be so many events to celebrate the university's 50th year. All students and alumni from all class years will enjoy being a part of the university's festivities. I hope to see you there!
