Community Corner

CityBrilliant's next "CityBuzz" event at Franklin Street Works

Looking for new ways to meet people and engage with the Stamford community and its landscape?  Then join fellow urbanites from all walks of life at CityBuzz Happy Hour on Thursday, December 13 from 5:30 – 7:00pm, hosted by Franklin Street Works. This free and open event at Franklin Street Works’ café will include drinks, discussion, and art in a casual, social, and informative atmosphere. CityBuzz is a series of happy hours designed to introduce the community to CityBrilliant, a new initiative with the mission of fostering discussion and story sharing in an attempt to increase innovation and leadership in Stamford. Similar to Franklin Street Works, CityBrilliant has an interest in engaging the diverse local community. Franklin Street Works is pleased to announce that, in addition to hosting the event, it is collaborating on the theme of the night – contemporary art and city life. To fully experience the CityBuzz event, we encourage you to join us at 5:30, but if you are delayed, no worries, it’s okay to stop by at any point during the evening!

Founded by Stamford native Patricia Rattray, CityBrilliant is created on the premise that conversation is the building block to generating social and economic success. Through a series of thematic happy hours in diverse locations in downtown Stamford, called CityBuzz, Rattray hopes to increase understanding and awareness of the multidimensionality of the city ranging from its students and businesses, to its nonprofits and residents. Each happy hour invites the community to learn about CityBrilliant’s mission and how to better contribute to the city through discussion, questionnaires as well as fun and easy trivia. People from all sectors are invited to CityBuzz Happy Hours to provide diverse perspectives and discussion.
