Become Your Unlimited Self: an interactive experience with Diane Pauley

Please join Franklin Street
Works on Thursday, February 27 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm for “Become Your Unlimited
Self: an interactive experience,” a talk by writer and life coach, Diane
Pauley. Also known as the “PostGrad coach,” Pauley is the founder of the
coaching site, PostGradolescence, where she helps creative millenials harness
their art and be their own boss. Join us for this free, public event and
workshop where you can learn the tools to turn your creative hobby into an
entrepreneurial enterprise!

Since graduating college, Diane Pauley’s watched her peers
struggle to find jobs and then settle in positions that knocked the passion
right out of them. As a result she started PostGradolescence, a coaching platform to teach
millennials how to overcome their limited resources and make their art
profitable. Pauley explains, “Unlimited is all about using what you aready have
at your disposal in order to create limitless opportunities for yourself and
your community.”

Pauley will host the talk and a workshop, Become Your Unlimited Self, which will map out some actionable
steps and how-to techniques to conquer money and time woes, focusing on how to
make art and other creative activities we love authentically rewarding and even
profitable. With 65% of households in
downtown Stamford having someone between the ages of 18 and 34, downtown
Stamford has a high density of millenials, creating the perfect context for
this program.

This idea of “unlimited” resonates with Franklin Street Works’
current exhibition, Neuromast: Certain
Uncertainty and Contemporary Art
, a show that explores “emergence,” the
theory that says unforeseeable results happen when a system reaches a certain
level of complexity. The exhibition, curated by Taliesen Gilkes-Bower and
Terri C Smith, is on view through March 9. Exhibiting artists are: Kari
Altmann, Christian Bök and Micah Lexier, Ingrid Burrington, Kaye Cain-Nielsen,
Mircea Cantor, hint.fm, David
Horvitz, Brian House and Jason Rabie, Juliana Huxtable, Thilde Jensen, Carolyn
Lazard, M. M. Mantua, Preemptive Media, Robert Spahr, Elizabeth Stephens and
Annie Sprinkle’s Sexecology
collaboration, and The Waterwhisper Ilse.

Please join us for for this event, which will connect creative
people in the area in a casual, social environment. Each attendee to this event
will receive one complimentary wine or beer from the Franklin Street Works
café.
