Today, saving energy isn’t a compromise. Energy-efficient products actually make life better and promote a smarter way of living for you and your family.  That’s what the SmartLivingTM Center located in Orange, Connecticut is all about.  Funded by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and administered by The United Illuminating Company (UI), the SmartLiving Center is part home improvement showroom, part science museum and part resource center always open to the public for guests of all ages.

“The SmartLiving Center offers a unique educational experience for all ages to learn more about energy and electricity, electrical safety, sources of energy, conservation, the latest in energy efficiency and much more,” said Jocelyn Anastasiou, SmartLiving Center Program Manager, UI.  “Our goal is to provide guests with information about their homes’ energy usage and give them examples of energy-efficient solutions to help them proactively manage their home’s energy costs while remaining environmentally-conscious.”

The SmartLiving Center always has the latest interactive products, services and ideas to educate customers about energy efficiency for their homes or small businesses.  Currently, the expert staff at the SmartLiving Center is showing new light-emitting diode (LED) technology and other lighting displays as well as new home insulation displays for renters and homeowners to learn about how they can achieve maximum efficiency within their homes’ performance.
