In an effort to integrate green practices into the core knowledge of Connecticut building professionals and create green jobs, Energize Connecticut is partnering with Connecticut Light & Power and The United Illuminating Company to sponsor the first Green Professional Building Skills Training program beginning December 4, 2012 as provided by the Connecticut Green Building Council (CTGBC).
Green Professional Building Skills Training, or GPRO, is a series of courses and certificate exams designed to teach the principles of sustainability and trade-specific green construction knowledge to builders, renovators and building maintenance professionals.
A GPRO certificate demonstrates the understanding of green building as it applies to his or her trade, and it enhances a person’s ability to compete for and participate in green jobs. In addition, certificate holders are positioned to meet the expectations of owners and tenants who want healthier, environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient homes and offices.
Courses include Fundamentals of Green Building, Construction Management and Operation & Maintenance Essentials. Each completed course earns a GPRO Certificate. Please register online at www.ctgbc.com by November 20, 2012.
Courses begin December 4, 2012 at The United Illuminating Training Room located at 180 Marsh Hill Road in Orange, Conn.
