Pia Endorses Fedele in Stamford Mayoral Race

With just under a week before election day, Stamford Republican mayoral candidate Michael Fedele attached one more endorsement to his list of supporters Wednesday afternoon: that of former candidate Jerry Pia.
Pia, a Board of Education member and former Republican mayoral candidate himself, gave his endorsement Wednesday after explaining he is certain Fedele is the best man for the job.
"What's really, really important [...] is to have somebody who's been completely immersed in the city of Stamford and politics and recreation and the environment and the community to turn around at this point in time [...] after running for mayor myself, and say to [Fedele,] 'I'm going to endorse you because you're the best candidate,'" Pia said. "I believe Michael Fedele would be the mayor who can best move Stamford forward for everyone."

Fedele thanked Pia and said his endorsement was important because Pia is someone who intrinsically knows the city and the needs of its people.

"I'm honored to receive Jerry's endorsement," "Jerry Pia and the Pia family have done so much in this community for our children, for families of Stamford and has brought years of experience to the city of Stamford. The list is endless [...] So it is an honor to receive such an endorsement from Jerry because it means a lot to me. One, as a friend who has also run for office in our city and has won across party lines. And secondly, because of the wealth of experience he brings."
