An apology from Boucher, a new acting superintendent and a workout with a college football player.

Government

State Senator Toni Boucher that Gov. Malloy's interest in decriminalizing marijuana is rooted — at least in part — in his son’s 2007 arrest for possession and distribution of marijuana. The bill was passed in Connecticut’s Senate in a special session Saturday. Boucher later to Gov. Malloy for her remarks.

A body that was found last Saturday in a field off of Highland Road by a landscaping crew as 20-year-old Eryk "Rooster" Kogut, a junior volunteer with the Glenbrook Fire Department, according to the Stamford Advocate. Although police are still checking dental records, Kogut's cousin Monika Wenta and as well as officials from the Glenbrook Fire Department have identified the body as Kogut.

On Wednesday, the 's Special Investigation Youth Division 20-year-old Isaiah Johnson for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old special needs student. According to police, Johnson, who is a transvestite, coerced the student to accompany him to a bathroom near the food court at Stamford Town Center where a sexual encounter took place.

Schools

At a special meeting Tuesday night, the Board of Education Winifred Hamilton, Stamford Public Schools' current deputy superintendent, to be acting superintendent for 90 days effective July 1. Superintendent Joshua Starr’s contract was also amended that night to end June 30. Starr accepted a position as superintendent of Montgomery County (Md.) Public Schools in April.

Sports

Patch contributor Will Shaker Penn State football player and King grad Silas Redd to the beach to check out his summer training regimen. Redd, 19,  has been training locally before heading back to Penn State to begin preparing for his second football season.
