The had to deal with more than a few strange incidents this past week, including one that occurred at . A man and a woman, who were both employees of The Wellness Center and were in a relationship with each other, after arguing over a phone bill. Police say that after Guangfu Zhao tripped Zhen Zhuping — causing her to hit her head and briefly lose consciousness — Zhuping chased Zhao with a knife and stabbed him in the lower back area.

Parts of Stamford and Darien held a this past Tuesday to fill Andrew McDonald's vacant State Senate seat in the 27th District. Democrat Carlo Leone declared victory over Republican Bob Kolenberg and was sworn in this past Friday. Patch offered complete election coverage, including a video of Leone's victory speech.

Patch contributor Christine Brophy gave readers of 's Diabetes Self-Management Education Program, which helps patients learn how to manage their condition without diminishing their quality of life. “Patients who meet with certified diabetes educators tend to do better than those who don’t,” endocrinologist Bismruta Misra, MD, MPH, told Patch. “When I refer them, I see they are better managed than those who don’t go.”

Superintendent Joshua Starr and Student Support Services Director Mike Meyers attended the ' Education Committee meeting Wednesday night to to address bullying in Stamford public schools. In addition to professional development for teachers, the district has taken a three-pronged approach by implementing research-based prevention, intervention and support methods across the curriculum.
