Teen Fundraiser, Salamanders and a Free Movie

This week, teens spend a night reading at the Library to help raise funds, there's a free showing of the movie "Despicable Me" and families can enjoy a mini concert featuring musicians from the Stamford Symphony.

This week, teens spend a night reading at the Library to help raise funds, there’s a free showing of the movie "Despicable Me" and families can enjoy a mini concert featuring musicians from the Stamford Symphony.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: on Mar. 23 at 3 p.m.
Why Go: Come to the 3rd floor auditorium in the Library and see "Despicable Me"  a movie about an aging super-villain focused on world domination until orphaned girls see him as a dad. Reccomended for kids ages 5 and up.
Pricing:   FREE

Where/When: on Mar. 25 at 6 p.m.
Why Go: Teens in middle and high school are welcome to participate in this Teen Read-in fundraiser event at the library and"Read a Book, Save Our Library." Please call  for information.

Where/When:  Stamford Museum and Nature Center on Mar. 27 from  1 to 2:30 p.m.
Why Go: This is an interactive and fun event featuring musicians from the Stamford Symphony and offering kids the chance to get up close to the instruments and musicians. The event also includes general admission to the museum, so plan to also spend the day exploring the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.
Pricing:   M&NC members $12 adults/non-members $15, $8 all children.

Where/When:   on Mar. 24 from 5 to 6 p.m.
Why Go:  Children and Teen Spring series features latin Jazz dance classes on Thurs. (check out Mon. classes to learn Hip Hop dance and Saturday classes for Ballet)   Taught by world class performers, coachs and dancers.
Pricing:   Refer to course schedule/call for more info.

Where/When:  Stamford Museum & Nature Center on Mar. 25 from  7 to 8:30 p.m.
Why Go:  Grab your flashlights, hiking boots and head out the the vernal ponds at the Stamford Museum & Natue Center. Discover unique creatures and visit the pools where they visit once a year to lay their eggs - from wood frogs to American toads, and spotted salamanders. This event is rain or shine and is appropriate for ages 5 and older.
Pricing:   SM&NC Members: $5 | Non-Members: $8
