Students Stung by Wasps at Stamford Museum and Nature Center

Nearly 30 students from a summer camp in Bridgeport were stung by the wasps, which were roused by their presence, according to a report in the Stamford Advocate.

A group of summer camp students from Bridgeport were attacked by a swarm of yellowjackets during a visit to the Thursday.

According to a report in the Stamford Advocate the students were hiking on one of the nature center's trails when they came near a yellowjackets nest in the ground.

Nearly 30 of the students were stung by the wasps, which were roused by their presence, according to the report.

A camp counselor was stung multiple times and transported to the hospital by ambulance, according to the report. The students were reportedly taken to the hospital by bus for treatment of their stings.
