State Independent Party Endorses Candidates For Boards of Finance, Education

State Agent of the Independent Party of Connecticut Mike Telesca has announced his support for Cynthia Reeder and Karen Murphy as candidates for seats on the Board of Finance and Board of Education respectively.

The Independent Party of Connecticut announced on Wednesday that Stamford resident Cynthia Reeder and attorney Karen Murphy would have the party's full backing for candidacy in two major Stamford board seats.

"Cynthia Reeder, a Stamford resident for the past 10 years, is running to fill one of the three slots on the Board of Finance, and Karen Murphy, an attorney and actuary with an extensive financial background, is seeking a spot on the Board of Education," a press release from the IPC states.

Karen Murphy is responsible for several Board of Ed. proposed initiatives, such as a proposal to improve management of the Board of Ed.'s $250 million operating budget.

“She will be an unwavering ally of parents and taxpayers who are seeking transparency and accountability from the School Board and
Superintendent,” State Agent of the IPC Mike Telesca said.

“The Independent Party promotes honest, open, non-partisan problem solving in addition to fiscal responsibility and accountability,” Reeder said.
