Stamford Man Awarded $30K After Playing State Lottery Game [Clarification]

Stamford resident Abel Carreno was awarded $30,000 after winning Connecticut Lottery’s “Match & Win, 2nd Edition” instant scratch game.

Carreno told lottery officials on July 6 that he would like to use the money to put a down payment on a house.

“I could not believe I had won” Carreno, the father of two, told lottery officials.

The self-employed contractor bought the ticket from China Pavilion Variety store on Broad Street in Stamford.
