A Release from the Connecticut Lottery:
Six smiling faces representing an incredibly lucky group of 23 employees from the Toyota of Stamford auto dealership officially received their prize checks from the CT Lottery last Friday claiming the third of three Powerball “Match 5” prize winning tickets sold for the November 28, 2012 drawing.
The winning Powerball numbers on November 28 were 5 – 16 – 22 – 23 – 29 and Powerball 6. In total, 148,555 winning Powerball tickets were sold statewide for that date, with prizes ranging from $4 to $2,000,000.
While the group didn't win the jackpot, their “Quick Pick” ticket matched five numbers, but missed the Powerball, making for a spectacular $1,000,000 prize win. “When word got out at the dealership that we hit the Powerball, we all were all screaming and jumping around. We had a lot of fun,” said the group’s spokesperson, John Linn of Stamford.
Each employee in the pool received an equal share of the $1,000,000 prize—$43,478 (value before taxes). “The prize money comes just in time for the holidays,” Linn told Lottery officials. “It’s going to help a lot of people out in a lot of different ways. We’re all very thankful.”
The $1,000,000 Powerball prize winners include:
Harold Buckle, James Coughlin, III, A. Gonzalez, Andrzej Pawlowski
Brandon Campbell, Anthony Capolupo, Eliana Castano, Steven DeFelice, E. Gomez, Laura Henesy, Marion Lascala, John Linn, Christian Nyquist, Anthony Pampena, Thomas Purcell, Arcady Zislis
