Powerball Jackpot Winner Finally Comes Forward [UPDATE]

As rumored, the ticket was sold in Stamford, lottery officials confirmed.

The winners of the Nov. 2 $254 million Powerball jackpot have been identified as Greenwich residents Gregg Skidmore, Brandon Lacoff and Tim Davidson, owners  of Belpointe LLC. The trio revealed themselves as the winners of the 12th largest jackpot in Powerball history Monday at the Connecticut Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill, according to published reports. The three say a significant portion of their winnings will go to charity.

After nearly a month of Fairfield County residents double-, triple- and even quadruple checking their lottery tickets, as well as searching everywhere for a , the holder of the winning ticket for the Nov. 2 has finally stepped forward to claim their prize, lottery officials announced Monday.

However the prizewinner’s name and town/state of residence have not been revealed and may be kept private, according to reports.

Lottery officials confirmed three weeks ago that the winning ticket was sold in Fairfield County on Nov. 2. Rumors swirled that the ticket was sold in Stamford and one .

The winning ticket was, in fact, sold at a BP gas station in the Shippan section of Stamford, according to a report in the Stamford Advocate.

The $254 million jackpot is the 12th largest in Powerball history, CT Lottery officials said. The winner can claim the jackpot as an annuity paid over 29 years or a lump sum of nearly $152 million in cash.

So urgent was the search for the winner (or the winning ticket) that lottery officials even put up billboards urging the winner to step forward and end the mystery.

Similar messages were posted on display screens at 2,700 retailers, according to the Stamford Advocate report.
