Pavia in Lima to Finalize Stamford Sister City Project

Pavia will travel to Peru's capital "on trip to kindle economic, cultural and educational good will."

is reportedly embarking on a trip to Lima, Peru, today to finalize the sister city project started in 2009.

According to a report in the Stamford Advocate, Pavia will travel to Peru's capital with Stamford Economic Development Director Laure Aubuchon and several others “on trip to kindle economic, cultural and educational good will.” They will meet Lima Mayor Susana Villaran De La Puente and other officials to discuss economic and educational opportunities.

City representatives Willie Geraldo, D-4, and John Mallozzi, D-12, are reportedly going on the trip, which ends Friday, but are paying their own expenses.

City officials hope to bring interested executives from local corporations on subsequent trips to meet with business leaders in Peru, in order to explore potential deals, according to the report. What’s more, officials from the University of Connecticut say they may eventually establish exchange programs with universities in Peru, the report states.
