Patch How-To: Signing Up for Alerts and Sending News Tips

Learn how to receive alerts from Patch to your email and phone, and how to send Patch editors news tips!

There are numerous ways to get the latest news, events and announcements from Patch, including e-newsletters and breaking news alerts that can be delivered to your email account or your mobile phone. To make sure you're not missing out, follow these simple instructions:

1. (If you already have a Patch account, skip to step #2) Sign up for a Patch account by clicking on the "Sign Up" button at the top of the homepage and following the instructions. Once your account is confirmed, log in.

2. Locate your name at the top of the homepage on the right. Click on the "Alerts" button. From the this page you can, click (unclick) the option to receive emails from Patch and edit your email address if needed.

3. To receive SMS messages from Patch, enter your mobile number, choose your mobile carrier and check off the "I'd like to receive SMS alerts from Patch" option.

4. Check off whether you'd like to receive breaking news alerts to your mobile phone, or if you'd like to receive breaking news alerts, daily e-newsletters, weekly e-newsletters and Patch Deals to your email account. Click on the "Save" button to save your changes. Return to this page to change your options at any time.

Click on the "Send us News Tips" button located at the bottom right-hand side of the homepage, fill out the form and hit "Submit."
