Former Member of Stamford Latin Kings Sentenced to Two Years for Selling Ecstasy

According to a press release issued Monday by David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, Jeffrey Nunez, 28, of Stamford, was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for conspiring to distribute MDMA, commonly known as “ecstasy.”

Federal authorities said Nunez' arrest is the result of a joint law enforcement investigation into the trafficking of firearms and narcotics in southwestern Connecticut conducted last year. During the investigation, Nunez — also known as “J-Free,” “Jeff,” and “Brother Jeff” — reportedly supplied codefendant Patrick Uzar with more than 250 grams of ecstasy.

Uzar has pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine, and one count of possession and transfer of a machine gun, according to the release. He awaits sentencing.

On April 13 Fein's office announced that Santos Zambrana, also known as “Inca” and “Pres,” 25, of Stamford, a former president of the Stamford Latin Kings, had been , followed by three years of supervised release, for conspiring to deal in firearms. His arrest came as a result of the same series of raids.

According to federal authorities Zambrana sold, through codefendant Patrick Uzar, a rifle with five 50-round magazines and one 100-round magazine to an iundercover agent. Authorities also caught Zambrana arranging with Uzar to sell another firearm via a court-ordered wiretap, according to the DOJ release.
