Cold Weather Coming, Light Snow Possible

A week of cold weather is forecast for the region.

Snow showers can be expected tonight in some towns across the state as temperatures drop and northwestern winds pick up. Cold and blustery weather is forecast through the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

The major storm at the center of this system brought up to three inches of rain to Connecticut over the weekend.

Monday night temperatures are expected to drop below freezing and some black ice is forecast to form overnight from standing water and also from any snow showers that move through the state.  Temperatures are forecast to drop into the low 20's by daybreak on Tuesday.
