Widespread but minor flooding is predicted for western Long Island Sound between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. today, and that may include Norwalk, the National Weather Service warns.

Three separate thunderstorms may also hit the city—one before 2 p.m., another after 4 p.m. and yet a third sometime before 9 p.m., according to the weather service's forecast specifically for Norwalk. The service predicts a 60 percent chance of rain during the day Thursday.

Patchy fog is expected before 9 a.m., according to the forecast.

The weather service issued a "Coastal Flood Advisory," last updated at 1:52 a.m. Thursday, predicting "widespread minor coastal flooding" at this end of the sound. "A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore," according to the weather service.

In Norwalk, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 76 degrees on Thursday, the weather service stated. Friday should be partly sunny, but scattered or isolated showers are in the forecast for Friday night through Saturday night.
