Your Child Has a Toothache...

What to do and, importantly, what not to do.

Your child comes to you and complains of a toothache. First ask them to open their mouth so you can locate the source of the pain. If you see any trapped food or debris have them rinse with salt water to dislodge the debris. If this doesn't work, have them use dental floss. If the area is swollen, apply a cold compress to the area and contact your dentist.

Do not ever place aspirin directly on tooth or gum. If there are no known allergies, have your child take acetaminophen and call a dentist to make an appointment.
