I have to agree with sushi. I also found the surgeon to be arrogant and unwilling to consider the concept that his bandaging was less than perfect. I was initially pleased that he was able to fix my 13 year old cat's leg (torn ligaments) - even though the price tag was alarming ($6000+!). But when we returned a week later for the bandage change, my cat started screaming in the car on the way home. Literally screaming. I've never heard anything like it. I called the vet as soon as we got home, and he opined that this was just a reaction to waking up from the anesthesia. Two hours later, she was still screaming. I drove back to the vet and he was reluctant to change the bandage. "I placed it myself," he said, "so I am sure that's not the problem." He suggested I leave her for a couple of hours for observation. I did so. Picked her up and she was still screaming. I brought her home again and sat with her for five hours and she was clearly in distress. Brought her back to the vet at midnight. Different doc, who finally changed the bandage and told me the splint has slipped and was pressing on her incision. Total cost for that one day (I was charged for both bandage changes) - $400. No one called the next day to follow up. Customer service rep, who finally returned my call a week later, did not apologize, but instead harped on the fact that my cat is difficult. Yes, she is. She hates vets. All 5 pounds of her. That's why she gets anesthesia for bandage changes. But she is also their patient, and you'd never let a difficult human go through what this hospital put her through. Honestly, all I wanted was an apology, and all I got was denial of responsibility, even in the face of their own night doctor's diagnosis. I'd never recommend this place.
