URA The Spa Kicks Off Lunchtime Lecture Series with "Healthy Mom, Happy Mom" April 30

April 14, 2014 (WILTON, Conn.) -- With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, moms are on the minds of many. Enter URA The Spa (www.urathespa.com) and its Mother’s Day celebration -- “Healthy Mom, Happy Mom” -- on Wednesday, April 30 from 12 - 1:30 pm. It’s been long said that mothers tend to put the needs of their children first, especially women with younger children. It’s also been said that taking care of yourself can make you a better mother.  URA owner, Heather Bova, Comprehensive Nutrition (www.loryngalardi.com) president, Loryn Galardi, and Brain, Child Magazine (www.brainchildmag.com) Editor-in-Chief, Marcelle Soviero, all agree -- a healthy mom truly is a happy mom. The three will team up for a lunchtime event showcasing nutrition and lifestyle tips for optimal health as well as journaling and goal-setting ideas that bring about emotional fulfillment.

What better setting for “Healthy Mom, Happy Mom” than URA, Wilton’s newest spa and go-to place for renewal, which offers a range of services from facials to massages to injectables. Ms. Bova opened the facility in December and is thrilled to house a speaker series promoting health and wellness. “I’m excited to launch our Lunchtime Speaker series with two Wilton moms who will offer tangible guidance in the way of physical and emotional health. The event will be a win-win for all those who attend,” said Bova.

Loryn Galardi is a Wilton nutritionist specializing in educating people on eating and living mindfully. Ms. Galardi, too, is in the business of healing as her practice helps both adults and children achieve optimal health through custom programs. She offers both private and group sessions as well as classes via the Wilton YMCA, Wilton Continuing Education and local corporations. Ms. Galardi will cover the “Healthy Mom” portion of the event on the 30th. “My goal is to support people as they make diet and lifestyle modifications, which are never easy. I’m thrilled to share go-to tips and tactics for improved health with mothers in the community,” said Galardi.

The “Happy Mom” portion of URA’s event features publishing maven, writer and mother of five, Marcelle Soviero. Ms. Soviero is the owner of Erielle Media LLC, the Wilton-based parent company of Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers. A perfect Mother’s Day tie-in, Brain, Child is the largest literary magazine for and about mothers. Soviero is a entrepreneur, sought-after speaker and also the author of An Iridescent Life: Essays on Motherhood and Stepmotherhood. She is a believer in journaling for moms as it’s a method that’s proven helpful for her. “I’ve been journaling for twenty years. The process has not only helped me set goals, but to successfully achieve them. At URA, I’ll be imparting journaling practices for  women whose personal goals may have temporarily taken a backseat to motherhood,” said Soviero.

“Healthy Mom, Happy Mom” is the first in a series of health-related talks at URA. In addition to the featured speakers, lunch will be served and a door prize drawing will include items from all participants. To reserve your spot, e-mail bewell@urathaspa.com by April 28. Reservations are highly recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. Admission is free. URA The Spa is located at 444 Danbury Road (Route 7) near the Cannondale District in Wilton.
