Stamford Federal Credit Union Opens to Southern Fairfield County

Stamford Federal Credit Union (SFCU) has expanded its field to membership to Southern Fairfield County. This includes anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien, Weston, Westport, Wilton, Fairfield, Trumbull, Bridgeport, Easton, Shelton, Stratford and Monroe. Since 1952, the Credit Union was only open to the employees of the City of Stamford and their families.

“By opening up our field of membership, we can help more people with their financial needs through our extensive array of services from full-service checking and savings accounts to credit cards, consumer loans and mortgages,” said David Lucas, president and chief executive officer.

Stamford Federal Credit Union offers an alternative option for financial services in a busy marketplace with national and regional banks. With low-cost products and high levels of member service, the Credit Union hopes to attract consumers who would like a more personalized approach to banking.
