KATHRYN PHILLIPS JOINS NUSBAUM & PARRINO AS ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

WESTPORT, Conn., July 7, 2014 --  Kathryn A. Phillips, attorney at law, recently joined the family law practice of Nusbaum & Parrino P.C. as an associate attorney.  Attorney Phillips is involved with the full spectrum of client representation, including drafting and prosecution of pre- and post-judgment motions, conducting and managing discovery, witness examinations during court hearings, negotiation and drafting of final agreements, and other agreements submitted to the court. 

Attorney Phillips is fully committed to providing effective representation in cases involving divorce, custody, child support, asset protection and equitable distribution issues.

“Katie brings additional depth to Nusbaum & Parrino as we grow our practice.  We’ve seen a significant uptick in business and felt the time was right to hire another attorney.  We look for the best talent we can find to work with our clients and Katie fits the bill,” said Edward Nusbaum, who founded the firm with Thomas Parrino in 1993.

Attorney Phillips joined Nusbaum & Parrino after having worked as an associate attorney with another law firm in Westport.  Prior to that Attorney Phillips served as a clerk and case flow coordinator for the Regional Family Trial Docket in Middletown where she clerked numerous hearings and trials, and assisted the Honorable Lynda B. Munro and the Honorable Gerard I. Adelman in docket management.

Attorney Phillips earned a Juris Doctor degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2012, receiving concentrations with honors in family law as well as civil advocacy and dispute resolution.  She was the recipient of distinguished academic achievement awards in advanced family law-trial practice, trusts and estates, law and gender and federal income tax. 

Attorney Phillips earned bachelor’s degrees in communications and sociology from the University of Connecticut in 2009.  She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Fairfield County Bar Association.
