Stamford Attorney Joins CT Bar Forum

Ernie Teitell, a partner at the Stamford trial law firm of Silver Golub & Teitell LLP, recently joined the Connecticut Bar Foundation’s Roraback Circle, which is composed of prominent Connecticut attorneys that are committed to the preservation and expansion of the rule of law.

“My support of the Connecticut Bar Foundation and my contribution to the Roraback Circle underscores my continuing commitment to ensuring that our state’s legal services organizations have the resources they need to serve our too many poor, needy and underserved residents,” said Ernie.  “I firmly believe that ‘… and justice for all’ -- the last four words of our Pledge of Allegiance -- should not be a hollow pledge.”

“The Circle is named in honor and memory of the late Catherine ‘Katie’ Roraback because her entire career exemplified what it truly means for an attorney to uphold the Rule of Law and the administration of justice,” said Sandy Klebanoff, executive director of the Connecticut Bar Foundation.  “We are delighted that Ernie has made the commitment to support her memory and our work by joining the Roraback Circle.”

After graduating from Yale Law School in 1941 as the only woman in her graduating class, Ms. Roraback, as a solo practitioner in Canaan, participated in numerous landmark and controversial cases throughout her storied career, including Griswold v. Connecticut, which established a constitutional right to privacy.

The Connecticut Bar Foundation, in addition to its role in funding legal services for the poor, is committed to providing a forum for attorneys and the general public to understand emerging issues in the administration of justice and how these emerging issues affect their lives and the preservation of a just society.
