Cushman & Wakefield Announces Two Promotions in Stamford & Westcheste​r Offices

STAMFORD, CONN. – June 3, 2014 – Cushman & Wakefield announced today that it has promoted Steve Baker to executive director and Matthew Lisk to senior director in Cushman & Wakefield’s Stamford and Westchester offices. 

Stephen F. Baker has been with Cushman & Wakefield since 1988.  A commercial broker specializing in office leasing and tenant representation, he has represented many prestigious corporations and financial institutions.  Between 1988 and July 1996, Mr. Baker worked in Cushman & Wakefield’s Stamford, Connecticut office as a commercial leasing broker representing tenants and landlords in Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York.  Mr. Baker returned to the Stamford, Connecticut office in March 1999 after three successful years working in Cushman & Wakefield’s World Headquarters in New York City.

Mr. Baker has consistently ranked as one of Cushman & Wakefield’s “Top 100” brokers companywide and, in 2000 and 2006, he earned the company’s prestigious “Service Excellence” award, an award given to the individual in the New York Metropolitan area who has been recognized by his/her clients for the highest level of service and initiative in that year.

Mr. Baker is also a partner in C&W’s global Alternative Investment Services practice group, a global team of real estate professionals focused on serving the unique occupancy needs of the alternative investment community.

Mr. Baker received his B.A. in English from Middlebury College in Vermont.  Additionally, he has taken graduate courses in Real Estate from New York University.  Mr. Baker is past president of the board of directors for Domus, the leading social services agency in Connecticut, which runs charter schools, community centers and residential programs for at risk children and their families.  Mr. Baker is currently president of the board of directors of Trailblazers Academy in Stamford, Conn., one of the charter schools run by Domus.

Matthew Lisk is a senior director in the Leasing Services Group of Cushman & Wakefield’s White Plains, N.Y. office, where he specializes in both tenant and landlord representation services in Westchester County. 

Mr. Lisk has represented tenants, such as Benchmark Education, Tappan Zee Bridge Constructors, Byram Healthcare, Morgan Stanley, Readers Digest, EMCOR, House Party, Eckert Seaman’s Cherin & Mellott, and Evolution Markets.

Currently, Mr. Lisk represents more than two million square feet of Class-A office space in Westchester County.  His current and past clients include Beacon Capital Partners, SL Green, George Comfort & Sons, Onyx Equities, Cohen Brothers, Hines, Pepe Companies, Simone Development, Fareri Associates, Willett Company, Summit Development, Greenfield Partners and Baywater Properties.

Over the past three years, Mr. Lisk has participated in more than 100 lease transactions in Westchester County. 

In 2010, Mr. Lisk received Westchester County’s business recognition award, "Forty Under Forty, Rising Stars” — an award that pays tribute to individuals in Westchester County who are making their mark in their chosen profession at a young age.  In addition, he was awarded Cushman & Wakefield’s 2007 Top Producing Associate Award for the tri-state area.

Mr. Lisk received a B.S. in Business Management from the State University of New York at Binghamton.  In addition, he has taken several masters classes at NY Schack Institute of Real Estate.
