CHELSEA PIERS CONNECTICUT ANNOUNCES JASON BRIGGS AS SKATING DIRECTOR FORMER OLYMPIAN AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITOR JOINS SKATING STAFF
Chelsea Piers Connecticut (CPCT) is thrilled to announce the addition of Jason Briggs as Skating Director. Briggs spent nearly a decade competing on the international stage as a pairs skater before ending his career representing Great Britain in the 1992 Olympics.
After his competitive career, Briggs began coaching under the tutelage of National, International, World and Olympic coaches Peter Burrows and Mary Lynn Gelderman. Over the past 20 years, Briggs has distinguished himself as a leading team coach for figure skaters and pairs skaters in the region.

“Adding Jason as the head of skating positions Chelsea Piers Connecticut as the leading teaching facility in Fairfield County,” commented Mollie Marcoux, Executive Director, Chelsea Piers Connecticut. “Jason has an impressive track record of coaching both in tandem with other coaches as well as on his own. He has some of the rising stars in figure skating working with him.”

“The position here is incredibly exciting,” commented Briggs. “Within this single facility are all of the tools needed to foster world-class talent. There are dance facilities, gymnastics trampolines and cardio equipment as well as a commitment within the staff to create the best possible environment needed to encourage athletic talent.”
Among Briggs current roster of skaters includes several who are currently competing on the national stage including: Samantha Cesario, Sydney Jones and Brett Mayer.
