Two Weeks of Lower-Cost Menus in Downtown Stamford Restaurants

Stamford Restaurant Week runs from today through Labor Day with lunches as low as $10.11 and dinners as low as $15.11 in some eateries.

Downtown Stamford restaurants don't just have one restaurant week, they have two back-to-back weeks together, and then they add another day of lower priced prix-fixe offerings, and what's better than that is—it starts today.

This year 28 restaurants in downtown Stamford are participating, with lunch menus of either $10.11, $12.11 and $20.11 and dinner menus of $15.11, $20.11 or $30.11.

It's a great time to try a new restaurant — or get a lick in on your favorite one over there.

According to an announcement on the Connecticut Restaurant Week website, "This year in partnership with Stamford Hospital, Stamford Tables will host KIDS’ FANS 5-2-1-0, a program designed to promote nutrition and fitness in Stamford. All children under 12 will be offered a healthy lunch for $6.95 and dinner for $9.95 at most of the above listed restaurants." Restaurants in the list below are NOT participating in the offering for children.

If you're one of the first 3,000 Summer Restaurant Weeks patrons (and come on, if you start tonight or maybe even tomorrow, it's going to be kind of hard not to be), you'll get "a voucher for a free small popcorn with the purchase of a general admission ticket to the Avon Theatre" on Bedford Street. The voucher is valid through Sept. 30.

( begins with a "stroll" Thursday and continues 10 days, until Saturday, Sept. 3.)

Here's a list of the participating restaurants, with online links to their menus, phone numbers and, in some cases, online links for reservations (the Stamford Downtown Special Services District also has a Web page on the event):
