The Moderne Officially Cuts the Ribbon In Downtown Stamford

Stamford officially has a little more room for newcomers. On Wednesday evening, The Moderne at 163 Franklin Street held a ribbon cutting followed by a party on the rooftop deck of the new apartment building.

In addition to the deck, the building features amenities like a bar area, movie theater (!) and gym. It officially opened its doors September 1 and the 58-apartment building already has over 50-percent occupancy, according to Randy Salvatore, Owner and Founder of RMS Companies, the developer behind the building.

"Downtown Stamford has become a great place for activities in general," said Salvatore, who's company is behind other living accommodations in the city like Parallel 41. "The apartments are necessary for new residents downtown and there's been an influx of young professionals and, really, all demographics lately."

Laure Aubuchon, Director of Economic Development for the City of Stamford, was on hand for the ribbon cutting as well. She said the new units were an exciting addition for a growing city that shows no signs of slowing down.

"It's a great space right in the heart of downtown," she said. "It's rapidly filling up. People keep saying, 'When's this bubble going to burst,' but we're moving from strength to strength. The speed of [The Moderne's] leasing bodes well for the other sites under construction in the city."
