Olga Mendoza is Stamford's connection to Central and South America.
Owner of Milenio Envios at 857 Cove Road, Mendoza came to Stamford 13 years ago and bought the store in 2005.
"I don't know why I bought it. I was crazy," she laughed. "No, the business has been good."
Mendoza deals mostly in money transfers, but she also handles personalized care-package shipments and has expanded her store to include some fashionable clothing provided by private local contributors.
"This store is a big responsibility for me; these are packages nd money heading to people's families," Mendoza said. "People keep coming here because we have good prices, timely delivery, we understand cultural customs and we have good [customer service.]"
