Stamford's Cengage Learning Developing Courses for Arkansas Community College

Development of the courses is being funded using part of a $2.15 million Acceleration, Resources, Knowledge Grant.

-based , maker of software-based teaching, learning and research tools, is working with NorthWest Arkansas Community College to develop a series of workforce development courses for professionals in the Bentonville, Ark. area.

In a release, David Garza, vice president, career and computing, Cengage Learning, said the courses, which include Microsoft Office and Mobile Applications Programming, "will help [Bentonville] area professionals to remain an asset to their employers and expand their knowledge-base to stay employable during these tough economic times."

Development of the courses is being funded using part of a $2.15 million Acceleration, Resources, Knowledge Grant that was awarded to the Northwestern Arkansas, Eastern Oklahoma and Southern Missouri region through the Obama Administration's Innovation Accelerator Challenge.
