Stamford Hospital, BlueStreak Sports Lease Space in Chelsea Piers

and BlueStreak Sports Training have leased space in the located on Blachley Road in the former Clairol facility.

As per announcements posted on Chelsea Piers Connecticut's website, Stamford Hospital has signed a long-term lease for 18,500 square feet for its new Orthopedics & Spine Institute. The hospital will house its orthopedic and sports-medicine physicians, as well as its physical therapy services, in the new facility. In addition the new location will feature a laboratory blood drawing station and imaging services.

BlueStreak has leased a 7,000-square-foot space that overlooks Chelsea Piers’ two National Hockey League-regulation-sized ice rinks. This new location will be in addition to its existing athletic skills development center on Largo Drive in North Stamford. The office will provide specialized training complementing the on field, on-ice, on-court training that teams and individuals receive at the sports facility, Chelsea Piers announced.

The new tenants will arrive in September, at about the same time and studios to a 300,000-square-foot space on the 32-acre campus.

Chelsea Piers, a 400,000-square-foot state-of-the-art sports and recreation facility, is scheduled to open in July. In addition to the it will feature an Olympic-sized pool; a warm water instructional and exercise pool; a 6,000-square-foot water play area featuring three giant slides; a gymnastics training center; a baseball and softball training facility; an indoor 100-yard turf field for , lacrosse, football, field hockey, softball and baseball; hardwood courts for basketball and volleyball; a 1/5-mile track; a squash center with 12 courts; and a tennis center with seven indoor tennis courts.

Chelsea Piers made news in January when it announced that it had as executive director and executive vice president of the new facility. In addition it announced that it had that makes the facility the club's home rink and training facility.
