Readers' Choice: Stamford Preschools

Tell us why the preschool you choose is the best—through a poll vote, rating and review—and help Stamford Patch crown a winner in this week's "Readers' Choice" installment.

It's one of the early formal choices that parents make that involves education and separation from a child for regular, extended periods of time: Preschool.

This is our second week of the Readers' Choice contest, and it's a wholly different category from last week's "." We understand that practical considerations of availability, money and location figure largely into decisions about which preschool parents choose for their children.

Since so much careful research—in person, online and through word of mouth—goes into the preschool decision, we want to poll our Norwalk Patch parents not just on what they feel is the best preschool for their child, but also why.

Below is a list of preschools we have registered in our continuously updated Stamford Patch Places directory. Click on any of them to get to a page dedicated to that preschool and to rate and review it.

Please also which preschools are missing from the list and why they're the best—we'll add them to the poll and create a new Patch Places listing for them. If you're a preschool operator who doesn't see your listing on Stamford Patch, email me at michaeld@patch.com or if you want to (or even !)

Here's our starter list:

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. We will announce the winner at 12 p.m. Friday.

My son is attending FUMNS and loves it. The staff is amazing, very caring and well organized. The program has an array of fun activities for kids and families. And the most important excellent communication. I enjoy reading the weekly newsletter and knowing what they been doing and learning.

My son is currently attending FUMNS and my daughter also went through the school. I can't say enough good things about the school. The staff is amazing, the director brings so much to the program and the sense of community that the school fosters is so much more than I ever expected. The program is wonderful and the school offers so many extracurricular events for both children and parents alike. Also worthy of mention is my son's teacher, Brooke Nilsen, who represents the epitome of what a preschool teacher should be. She is one of the most nurturing, caring and positive teachers that I have ever encountered. Her assistant teachers are fabulous as well. The school also succeeds in preparing both the children and the parents for kindergarten. I absolutely love this school. RB

Both my children attend Bright Horizons at High Ridge Park. The teachers are great and the staff listens to partents needs. They have a wonderful outdoor area and keep the center CLEAN! I never once have to worry about anything when they are there, I would tell ANYONE to send thier children their.
