"I love The Children's School - My daughter is 4 and was at a daycare center in the Springdale area before TCS and WOW what a difference! I truly feel she is attending a school where the teachers genuinely care about each child and are not just showing up to school for a paycheck! TCS works with each child in a thought out and caring approach. At the end of the day when you are picking a preschool look at staff turn over; staff education (all teachers at TCS have at least their BS, but most have their MS - you get a print out of all of the staff's credentials). Also the head of TCS, Maureen, is so caring and makes you feel like you are part of a family and not just a number or tuition payment. Children are offered Mandarin, Spanish, Yoga, African Drumming, Chess, Dance and so much more in enrichment programs - as well as having the Stamford Nature Center right across the street. Parents are given a wondering and thoughtful DVD of their child at each year's parent teacher conference - I find this so amazing because you are not just hearing what your child is doing, you are seeing it in the DVD. There is also an observation room to view your child. If you want your child going to a school where they are going to be challenged at their own pace as well as cared for by an amazing and well trained staff then look into TCS. As an educator myself, I think every child should be given such an amazing head start."

This week, Stamford readers cast almost 250 votes and Gray Farms Nursery School earned 31 percent of the votes, while JCC Sara Walker Nursery School earned about 23 percent. and followed with 20 percent and 6 percent of the votes, respectively.

  • : Gray Farms is the best in town, hands down! One of my girls graduated last year and one currently attends, and we couldn't be more pleased. I have watched my children flourish in Gray Farms' nurturing care. Thanks to the Director and Staff and the all-encompassing program that they implement, the children in their care grow - intellectually, emotionally and socially - in leaps and bounds. You simply cannot give your children a better start at schooling or a more thorough preparation for elementary school in Stamford! I whole-heartily recommend, Gray Farms Nursery School!
  • : We highly recommend Gray Farms. The teachers are caring and provide a perfect environment. Not only did my children develop skills needed for reading, writing and math, they developed social skills such as interacting with older and younger children, as well as adults. I am so happy for the foundation that the staff at Gray Farms built for my children’s' education.
  • : Our older son is currently attending Gray Farms and has loved every minute of it. He was in a different preschool last year and did not have much fun or learn much more than what we were doing at home, but this year he has grown so much due to the great staff at Gray Farms. I know already that he will be fully prepared to start kindergarten in September. Our younger son will be going there in the fall also for the next 2 years so we obviously love the program and recommend it to others without any reservations.
  • : We love Gray Farms! My daughter is in her second year there and only wish I had known about it when my son was in preschool because it is a fantastic environment for children. It is the right mix of learning, play and socialization and the teachers are hands down the most nurturing I have ever seen. I would, and do, recommend it to anyone with a child ready to enter preschool.

And here are two more noteworthy comments that celebrate our Stamford preschools:

  • : Both my children attend Bright Horizons at High Ridge Park. The teachers are great and the staff listens to parents' needs. They have a wonderful outdoor area and keep the center CLEAN! I never once have to worry about anything when they are there, I would tell ANYONE to send their children their.
  • : My son is attending FUMNS and loves it. The staff is amazing, very caring and well organized. The program has an array of fun activities for kids and families. And the most important excellent communication. I enjoy reading the weekly newsletter and knowing what they been doing and learning.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this week’s . Next week’s Readers’ Choice category: Places to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Until then, Slán go fóill!
