MELT Mobile Truck Coming to Stamford

The food truck, which serves gourmet food items, is featured on celebrity chef Bobby Flay's Food Project, "a new reality show on the Food Network that follows food entrepreneurs through the arduous task of opening a food service business."

Food service entrepreneurs Darlene Andersen and Diana Hall will bring their MELT Mobile food truck to Stamford's and starting at 11:30 a.m. March 29.

As per a press release, the food truck, which serves gourmet food items, will be featured on celebrity chef Bobby Flay’s upcoming Food Project, "a new reality show on the Food Network that follows food entrepreneurs through the arduous task of opening a food service business."

Indeed, the truck sells nothing like the traditional hot dogs, hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches that most food trucks sell. Menu items include the "Insanewich," with six ounces of Angus beef, featuring MELT sauce sandwiched between two classic grilled cheeses, and the "Svelt Melt," made with low fat jarlsberg, grilled vegetables and homemade pesto aioli on Beldottis’ 7-grain bread. For dessert the truck offers the "Cheesecake Melt," which "presses delicious cheesecake between two slices of buttery rich pound cake."

In keeping with their plan to support local charities as part of their business model, the entrepreneurs will donate 2 percent of MELT Mobile’s proceeds to , a local charitable organization devoted to helping children in need, according to the release.
