Grand Opening For Starwood Hotel's New Stamford Headquarters
Starwood Hotels first announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters from White Plains, NY to Stamford in 2009 and completed the the move in January of this year.
Local and state politicians including Gov. Dannel P. Malloy are expected to be on hand for the grand opening of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.'s new corporate headquarters in today.
Starwood — which operates the St. Regis, Luxury Collection, W, Westin, Le Meridien, , Four Points by Sheraton, Aloft and Element brands — first announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters from White Plains, NY to Stamford in 2009 and . The company will reportedly bring more than 800 jobs to the area.
The global hotel and leisure company occupies a 290,000-square-foot, LEED-certified space at One StarPoint (333 Ludlow Street), a new, two-tower office complex on Stamford’s South Side.

"Not only does this move to Stamford make great business sense, but it also provides the opportunity to design office space that is illustrative of Starwood's leadership in global hospitality, design and brand-building, as well as our commitment to the environment and our communities," said Frits van Paasschen, President & CEO, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, in a January press release. "Our new home base is a great showcase for Starwood and our nine brands."
