Gas Gauge: Lowest Price Around Jumps to $3.75

The new lowest price marks a steep rise for Stamford. We're helping each other find the least expensive stations around.

After holding at a remarkable $3.53 for the , even in the face consistently higher prices everywhere, the cheapest gas in Stamford reportedly now is at $3.75.

Week-over-week, that's in line with the rest of Connecticut, where the average gallon of regular gasoline held steady at $3.74, according to AAA's "Fuel Gauge Report," with mid-grade at $3.87, premium at $3.98 and diesel at $4.13.

One year ago, a gallon of gas in Connecticut would cost, on average, $2.92, with mid-grade at $3.17, premium at $3.25 and diesel at $3.17.
