New Gastropub to Open in Stamford's LockWorks

New Stamford restaurant combines "the convivial atmosphere of a traditional neighborhood pub with a menu of fresh, creative contemporary fare."

New York chef Stephen Lewandowski’s Harlan Social, a new restaurant based on the gastropub concept, will open in Habor Point’s LockWorks development this coming May, according to a release.

The restaurant combines “the convivial atmosphere of a traditional neighborhood pub with a menu of fresh, creative contemporary fare,” the release states.

"Harlan Social adds yet another exciting dimension to Harbor Point's concept of cosmopolitan living," said Carl Kuehner III, CEO of Building and Land Technology, the Stamford-based real estate development firm behind Harbor Point. "Stephen is a talented chef who will make this unique dining establishment a stand-out centerpiece of the community."

Lewandowski has been prominently profiled in the media. He is executive chef for Myriad Restaurant Group and executive chef of New York's downtown landmark restaurant, Tribeca Grill, co-owned by famed restaurateur Drew Nieporent and actor Robert De Niro.

Harlan Social is in the next year.

Stamford’s Harbor Point is reportedly one of the largest redevelopment projects currently underway in the U.S. The ambitious project involves redevelopment of five separate sections of Stamford’s South Side totaling about 80 acres. Once completed it will feature more than 6 million square feet of , , office and hotel space, as well as 11 acres of new parkland, waterfront trails, and a marina.

Last week it was announced that a new had leased a 9,000 square foot space at 2200 Atlantic Street, in another section of the Harbor Point development. The new health and fitness center is scheduled to open in February.
