Borders to Close 28 More Stores, Including Stamford Location

The High Ridge Road location in Stamford will close by the end of May.

Borders announced this week that it will close its by the end of May.

The 1041 High Ridge Road store was added to a list of 28 additional stores set to close as a part of its Chapter 11 reorganization process. The on 1499 Post Road has also been added to the list.

"We reached the determination about these stores after a further review of their ongoing economic viability," Borders spokeswoman Mary Davis said in a statement.

The company announced last month that it would close six other stores in Connecticut, including Wilton, Danbury and Milford. At total of 288 locations nationwide are set to close.
