Event at Saks Fifth Avenue to Raise Money for Stamford's Yerwood Center

Other highlights of the free event, to be held March 29, include a live art performance by contemporary artist Fernando Luis Alvarez, a fashion show, and a tribute to actor Gene Wilder.

Best-selling author Ruma Bose, CEO of Fran Drescher's "Cancer Schmancer" Laurie Meadoff, Dr. Judy Kuriansky, and "Extraordinary Mom" Kathy Eldon (called “the most inspiring person in the world” by Julia Roberts) will lead an education day filled with workshops and panel discussions geared at and mothers at in this Thursday, as part of a fundraising event supporting the .

Panel discussions will include "Women Entrepreneurs: Yesterday's Challenges Become ," “Your Kids, Diversity, and Bullying,” and "The Beauty Problem," according to a press release.

The day of education and empowerment will be followed by an evening gala featuring a live art performance by contemporary artist , a fashion show, and a tribute to actor Gene Wilder hosted by pioneering television and radio personality Joe Franklin.

Saks will donate 10 percent of all sales that day to the Yerwood Center.
