Woman Robs Glenbrook Bank [PHOTO]

Stamford police say a heavyset black woman robbed a Glenbrook bank Monday morning.

At about 9:07 a.m., a woman wearing a bandanna to hide her face (see photo) walked into First County Bank at 275 Hope St. and passed a handwritten note demanding cash, police said in a press release.

Described as about 5-foot-3 and 200 pounds, she was “wearing a grey hoody with a black checkered or dotted design pattern, brown bandanna covering her face, loose fitting grey pants and white sneakers,” police said.

“She had on tight white fitted gloves on her hands pulled over her sleeves in order to not expose her skin,” police said.

Bank employees put an undisclosed amount of money into a medium-sized brown leather pocketbook with short straps and a decorative band of gold dots, police said.

The robber left the bank through a side door heading east, on foot, on Scofield Avenue toward Center Street, police said.

The suspect is still at large. Stamford police ask anyone who knows her identity to call 203-977-4417.
