Stamford Man Charged with Molesting Girl, 10

A 31-year-old Stamford man was arrested Tuesday evening on charges that he fondled the 10-year-old daughter of his girlfriend, Stamford police said Wednesday.

According to Lt. Diedrich Hohn, the victim had attended a "Good Touch, Bad Touch" class in May of 2013, where children learn about appropriate and inappropriate contact between kids and adults.

Following the class, the girl revealed to her mother that two men had previously touched her inappropriately, Hohn said.

Police launched an investigation and conducted a sexual assault response interview with the child. She identified one of her assaulters as Arturo Enriguez, 31, of 64 Scofield Avenue, the victim's mother's boyfriend, Hohn said.

The second suspect has fled to Mexico, his country of origin, Hohn said.

Enriguez was arrested at his residence Tuesday evening at approximately 5:50 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a child: sexual contact. He has been cooperative, Hohn said. He was held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
