Stamford's Palace Theatre Celebrates 85 Years with Special Performances

The historic theater on Atlantic Street in downtown Stamford is reportedly celebrating its 85th anniversary with a slate of special performances scheduled for the 2012-2013 season.

Did you know that Stamford's opened its doors 85 years ago today, June 2, 1927?

The historic building on Atlantic Street in downtown Stamford — which started off as a vaudeville and motion-picture house — is reportedly celebrating its 85th anniversary with a slate of special performances scheduled for the 2012-2013 season.

Gracing the theatre's Harmon Stage over the next several months will be comedians Ron White and Bill Cosby; country artist Jerrod Niemann; pop culture icon William Shatner (in his one man show, Shatner’s World); The Temptations & The Four Tops; Grammy award-winning group The Chieftains (which is celebrating its 50th anniversary); The Midtown Men; and comedians Kathleen Madigan and Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood: The Two Man Group, according to a press release.
