Officials May Pull Plug on StamfordLights Project

Director of Economic Development Laure Aubuchon is still hoping to find a way to bring the StamfordLights project to fruition, according to a report in the Stamford Advocate.

The earlier this month denied a request for $150,000 for a special outdoor public art project at the Stamford Train Station.

However, according to a report in the Stamford Advocate, Director of Laure Aubuchon is still hoping to find a way to bring the StamfordLights LED mural project to fruition.

The outdoor art project, which involves the projection of lighted murals on the sides of the Stamford Train Station, using colored LED lights, has already received a $155,000 grant from the . The City was to match those funds — however Board members reportedly said the money would be better used for the clean up of South State Street.

The board's Fiscal Committee is expected to take up the request for further review at its meeting on May 29.
