Miss Connecticut Kaitlyn Tarpey Asks for Help Winning America's Choice

When the time comes during the Miss America Pageant at 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2013, one contestant will be chosen as America's Choice following a period of voting open to the public, and Stamford's own Miss Connecticut Kaitlyn Tarpey is asking for your help to win. 

Tarpey recently sat down with Patch and shared her inspirational story (and also shared a bit of knowledge for prospective Miss America contestants in a separate video interview.) Now She needs Connecticut's help while they public has the chance to voice their input for the next Miss America. 

Her introduction video can be seen above, and you should totally check it out to get a better understanding about who she is—and check out some of her awesome dance moves. Tarpey is an Irish dancer and it's the skill she shows off during the talent portion of the competition.

You can vote once per person, per contestant. Voting closes on September 12, 2013, 11:59 p.m. The Miss America pageant airs on ABC Sunday, September 15, 2013, at 9 p.m. from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
