World Asthma Day

Stamford Hospital is hosting a free event in honor of  World Asthma Day  to educate the community about asthma and ways to manage it.

10:30 – 11 a.m. : “An Update on Asthma Medications – 2011,” by Dr. Evan Stepp, Associate Director of Pulmonary Medicine at Stamford Hospital.

This is a free event and refreshments will be served during registration.

The event also includes a raffle, lunch and panel discussion, as well as an exhibit of patient education materials and demonstrations.

11– 11:45 a.m.   “The Ins and Outs of Breathing: Yoga, Meditation and Other Breathing Techniques for Asthma,” by Elaine Petrone, Program Director at the Health and Fitness Institute at Stamford Hospital.

12:30 – 1 p.m.  "The Role of Allergies in Asthma,” by Dr. Denis A. Bouboulis of Advanced Allergy Immunology and Asthma, PC.

1– 1:30 p.m. “Stamford Pediatric Asthma Initiative – What Can Be Done to Reduce Disparity?” By Dr. Hossein Sadeghi, Director of Pediatric Pulmonology at Stamford Hospital.
