Hansel & Gretel Ballet Performance
The Ballet School of Stamford will present its 14th annual Spring Performance, Hansel and Gretel, at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 25th at The Palace Theatre in Stamford. Featuring live music, singers and BSS alumni Nick Franco, this delightful, family-friendly production will appeal to audiences of all ages.
The Ballet School of Stamford’s two-act adaptation of Hansel and Gretel is choreographed by Megan Bonneau McCool, former dancer for New York City Ballet. Hansel and Gretel’s beautiful opera score was composed by Engelbert Humperdinck, Its premier was Germany in 1893 under the baton of Richard Strauss, who called it a “masterpiece of the highest quality…” The Ballet School of Stamford’s production of Hansel and Gretel will be featuring a live chamber orchestra conducted by Music Director Lilla Khanina and opera singers.
