African Children's Choir

Stamford Center for the Arts and Stamford Gives Back are proud to present the African Children’s Choir™ for a week-long residency in the community, culminating in a public performance on Saturday, May 26th at 7:30pm at The Palace Theatre. This residency is part of SCA’s ever expanding arts education programming, which includes workshops and presenting performances both on The Palace stage and in Stamford schools.  This incredible opportunity for the community of Stamford is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors Pitney Bowes, Purdue Pharma and Mystic Aquarium.

The African Children’s Choir™ travels the world, acting as the ambassador for Africa’s most vulnerable children. Their goal, to raise awareness and show that despite the desolate circumstances they come from, they have beauty, dignity, hope and unlimited potential.  Over its 25-year history, the Music for Life Institute’s AFRICAN CHILDREN’S CHOIR has toured the world with over 890 participates in 35 different choirs. While touring with the Choir, the children are exposed to a world of new possibilities. Chaperones, host communities and caring professionals share their wide variety of experiences with the children, exposing them to many new ideas and encouraging them to dream.  While in Stamford, the choir will offer school performances with a Q & A period and collaborations with local children’s choirs from schools, community centers, churches, and youth serving organizations.
